Christine's Presents the Jazz Stylings of
Sandra Kaye - Friday August 22nd - 7:00pm

Once or twice in every decade there comes a singer influenced by the rich vocal heritage of decades past. Just as Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington and Ester Phillips touched our lives through their incomparable gift of song, here and now comes another: Sandra Kaye.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Sandra Kaye grew up singing gospel music and was often the featured young vocalist in church socials and choirs. Her professional career was jump started by winning an amateur contest at the West End Cabaret Dallas in 1986.

In 1991 and 1992 Sandra performed for the Duke Ellington Birthday Celebration in conjunction with the Forth Worth Jazz Society. In 1994 she performed at the Hall of State in Dallas and in 1997 was featured artist for the Beaux Arts Ball at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Sandra has been the opening act or performed on stage with such notables as; David (Fathead) Newman, Onzy Matthews, Shelley Carrol, Brad Leali, Roy Hargrove, Monty Alexander, Dr. Dwight Dickerson, Michael Carr, Dionne Warwick, Roger Boykin, Claude Johnson, Carl Patterson, Joe Johnson, Al Dupree Johnny Taylor, Marchel Ivery, James Clay, Yarbrough and Peoples, George Tallifierro, (formerly of the Marcels), The Platters, The Drifters, Tanya Tucker, Antonio Fargas and the famed comedians, George Wallace and Shucky Ducky.

Vocalist Sandra Kaye has been delighting area audiences for years with her invocation of the spirits of greats like Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan singing classics like "Summertime" and "Someone To Watch Over Me."
